up a honeymoon file, including a special place for writing down
confirmation numbers, dates, and toll-free telephone numbers.

Book airline and/or cruise tickets; get assigned seats, order
special meals, and arrange for any specific requests.
- Make
hotel reservations. Log the confirmation number in your honeymoon
file.

Consider travel insurance.

Spread the word about your honeymoon registry - urge guests to
give early to better help you plan!

6 Months Before
- If you are traveling abroad, consider learning some of the language.
- Also, if traveling abroad, contact the CDC Travelers Health
Site for information on possible needed vaccines/ medical clearances.

Apply for a passport, or renew the one you have if it's due to
expire within six months of travel time.
- Reserve a rental car (add it to your honeymoon registry.) Log
the confirmation number in your honeymoon file.

Finalize
all other reservations. Log confirmation numbers.

Months Before

Start making packing lists.

Buy a camera and luggage if you do not already have these.

Confirm that names are the same on all essential documents and
tickets. (Even if you are changing your names upon marriage,
use your old names on honeymoon travel documents
to avoid possible confusion - you may also choose to use your
new and
maiden

Make arrangements for pets.

Reconfirm all reservations.

Contact
hotel concierges to remind them that you are honeymooners and
request suggestions for special tours or events.

Make packing & shopping lists

Hire a house-sitter, or assign a friend to home maintenance chores.

Weeks Before

Gather tickets, boarding passes, and all essential documents in
a secure binder (verify that all information is correct.)

Get
from $50 to $100 in local currency if you're going abroad.
- Check airline carry-on requirements.

Week Before

Give your house key, itinerary, and telephone numbers to those
who should have them.
- Stop
newspaper delivery, and arrange to have your mail picked up (or
arrange for your mail to be held at the post office.)
- Arrange
any necessary transportation for getting from the wedding to the
hotel or airport (add a limo ride to your honeymoon
registry!)
2-3
Days Before

Reconfirm overseas flight reservations.

Clean out the refrigerator, empty the garbage, set light timers,
mow the lawn, and remove the extra house key from under the
mat.

Buy magazines, books, gum, Dramamine, etc.

Start packing for real. Pack a carry-on bag, too.

Make copies of important documents that you might need if your
wallet was to be lost/ stolen (just in case.)

Change the message on your answering machine and office voicemail
and set up an automatic email reply at work and home.

Check weather reports for your destination.

Leave an itinerary and spare keys with a trusted relative (just
in case.)

Reconfirm domestic flights.
